PHOTOS: NEW Reusable Shopping Bags Debut at Walt Disney World, Will Be Shared with Disneyland Resort

Jan 29, 2024

A new reusable shopping bag has debuted at Walt Disney World, with an updated style that will also be available at the Disneyland Resort.

We got ours at World of Disney in Disney Springs, though you should also be able to find them throughout Walt Disney World.

The bags can be found and purchased at the checkout counters inside.

The bag itself is blue, and the Walt Disney World side has an illustration of Cinderella Castle with a Mickey head silhouette inside.

Tinker Bell flies above as fireworks burst in the sky around the castle — there’s even a hidden Mickey. The logo for Walt Disney World sits below it.

The sides of the bag have the Disney Parks logo printed in white, surrounded by sparkles.

The Disneyland side of the bag has the same illustration as the Walt Disney World side, but with Sleeping Beauty Castle and the Disneyland Resort logo instead.

The updated reusable shopping bags now come in only one size at the moment. It is also not eligible for discounts.

Prior to this update, merchandise locations throughout Walt Disney World had special 50th anniversary bags available for purchase.

This bag was navy with iridescent details and Mickey and Minnie in their anniversary outfits, standing in front of a decorated Cinderella Castle.

The bags also came in three sizes: small, medium, and large.

Each bag had its own 50th anniversary art, keeping in theme with the navy and iridescent colors.

Before the 50th anniversary reusable bags made their debut, both Walt Disney World and Disneyland had park-specific bags available for purchase.

Even Disney Springs and World of Disney got their own designs.

Each bag had the corresponding park’s icon on one side, and four icons that represented the resort or park on the opposite side.

Each park or resort’s bag was available in small, medium, and large sizes.

The bags also had their own color schemes.

The bags were made from 80 percent recycled materials, and were a part of Disney’s overall steps toward becoming more environmentally friendly.

However, plastic bags are still used at the parks.

This update marks a big change for these designs, which were only just implemented in 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.

While no reason for the bag update has been shared as of yet, it is possible this could be a way to reduce waste with making multiple bag designs for each and every Disney park.
